Rawalpindi Campus

PLC, Rawalpindi, which has always been considered as one of the important landmarks of the Punjab Group of Colleges, was established in 1989, primarily for serving the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but due to its rare academic distinctions and other related diverse activities, the students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Northern areas, many districts of Punjab and even of NWFP now acquire legal education in this College. Many old students of the College have appeared in different competitive examinations and are holding important positions in the Judiciary as Civil Judges, in the Police, jail and other Government departments. Quite a number of old students of the college have been and are currently office bearers of various District Bar Associations of Punjab and NWFP and also of High Court Bar Association. It is a matter of honour and pride for the College that many old students have by now achieved reasonably outstanding positions in the legal profession and have successfully established their own independent Chambers of high standard not only in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but also at other District headquarters.

LOCATION

The College is located on 6th Road, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. The Campus is linked with a convenient network of Public Transport on Murree Road. At present the College has no Hostel facility of its own, but there are a number of reasonably good male and female hostels in the vicinity of the College. Their rates and facilities are reported to be reasonable and many out-station students of the College prefer to stay in these hostels.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The students of the College have been securing First, Second and Third positions in the Final Year's University Examinations. Students of Part I and Part II have also obtained good positions in the University Examinations. Quite a number of students secure more than fifty percent marks and are included in the first ten position holders in the University examination.

ADMISSIONS

Admissions are made strictly on merit. Academic record of the applicants from Matric onwards is carefully scrutinized by a Committee of at least two Faculty Members and the students are interviewed by the Committee before a final decision is made by the Principal. Majority of the students, who were granted admission in Part I, Session 2007-8, are B.A/B.Com. Ist and 2nd Division, including more than 15 students, who are M.A. English, Political Science, MBA. Even an Engineer (BSc. Eng.) sought admission apart from bankers and top- civil servants like Directors and Commissioner. Every year up to ten serving Army officers of the rank of Colonel, Lt. Colonel and Majors are given admission in the College on nomination by the General Headquarters.
